A Christmas Brag
I’ve been thinking about sharing a full recap of the past two days. But seeing how it’s after 11:00p already, and the real fun (or shall I say madness) starts tomorrow as we travel to Texas to visit my family, I’ll keep it short…
Mr. Maroon outdid himself this year. Although we debated not exchanging gifts between us, we decided it was important for the Minis to understand that we give to each other too. Mr. Maroon has always been creative and thoughtful – though I didn’t give him credit for the best gift ever. I may have to retract my statement after today!
For a while now, our family has been enjoying a Friday night tradition of pizza and a movie. I make the pizza from scratch, but lately we’ve been lamenting the quality of the crust. To add to the complication, I make gluten-free crust, but that’s a story for another day – let’s just say that I have created a challenge for myself. So, Mr. Maroon gifted me a baking stone in the quest for a better crust. One of the problems with the stone though is that you need a pizza peel. Never fear, Mr. Maroon had a plan (I love that he always has a plan!)
Instead of going out – or more likely online – to give away our money, he decided to make the pizza peel! I think it speaks for itself …
And we put that baby to use tonight for supper. What a difference! By unanimous decision, we agreed it was the best pizza crust to ever come from this kitchen!! I’m feeling so much gratitude right now for I know that I’m lucky enough to spend my life with this man.
Hope you had a very Merry Christmas this year!!

I love it. I now have it proudly displayed on the counter… Firstly because it is so pretty. But equally as important – it doesn’t fit anywhere else!!
That’s awesome! What a fantastic gift! We actually found our pizza peel by the side of the road, so yours is a serious step up :).

Handmade gifts are definitely the best. Something I plan to add to my talents once I take control of my time at financial independence. I think it’s a lost art in today’s world.
